Credit Union Difference?

PSECU (aka Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union) recently "celebrated" it's 90th anniversary by encouraging its social media followers to read more about the "credit union difference" (https://bit.ly/493UxPJ).

Let's take a look at the facts:

1) Credit Unions are Member-Owned
Banks pay dividends to investor-owners on their equity stake while PSECU hasn't paid special dividends to its "member-owners" since 2019

2) Credit Unions Give Back to the Community
PSECU donated less than its CEO's salary to charity in 2022 while community banks and their foundations donate millions to charity annually

3) Credit Unions Have Eligibility Requirements to Join
PSECU qualifies anyone for membership through PRPS while banks don't have such eligibility restrictions

4) Anything else?
